COOK LIKE A CHEF is a studio-based television series that shakes things up. This is a series about how to cook, not what to cook. We take you out of Grandma's kitchen and into a rock n' roll paced studio-based environment where the focus is the food and on the techniques used to create incredible cuisine.

We have enlisted some of the best chefs in Canada in to help debunk the myths about cooking. Our chefs focus on cooking tips, and skills designed to make the home chef an ÜberChef.

Viewers have the opportunity to learn from the masters - techniques like barding beautiful cuts of fresh meat, tricks to the perfect non-greasy deep fried food, plate decorating and garnishing, and how to cook like a chef barbecue style. We show you the secrets of the professional kitchen from what to look for in fresh ingredients, how to prepare your mise en place and how to pull together the perfect gourmet meal. In this season our chefs unveil the secrets of the mouth watering French Croissant, moist and delicious paté, cooking en sous-vide and smoking your food for phenomenal flavour. You name it - we do it. Every aspect of the series is a radical departure from the established cooking show format.

Our chefs hit the sound stage where a large oval harvest table inlaid with state of the art cook tops is their podium. This is not a traditional kitchen - it is a set with cooking tools used to create a food show! Imagine that!

Along with the help of their sous chef and their prep chefs cooking away in the background, the chef works 360 degrees around the table moving from cook top to grill to work top to oven. Every move the chef makes is carefully followed by our swooping overhead jib-cam or by the two cameramen who are constantly leaning over and peeking into the pots. This full access 360 set gives COOK LIKE A CHEF dramatic food shots and intimate access to the chef's secret moves.

The whole set is enveloped in black drape cocooning the chef and the harvest table (you really gotta see it), and features a giant framed video projection screen to vividly capture the extreme close up shots. The lighting is dramatic and the music is funky. In short, this ain't your mama's cookin' show!
